These individuals help to make our mission a reality every day. This month, we spoke with Bre Kingsbury, corporate business development director.

Please tell me about your current role at WAA?

I am the corporate business development director for Wreaths Across America. I have the pleasure of working with Renee Worcester on introducing our organization to corporate sponsors who want to support our veterans and Gold Star Families.

How long have you been involved with Wreaths Across America? How did you first become involved?

I first volunteered with Wreaths Across America in 2013. My group of friends and family created our own fundraising group, Team Bear, to help give back. I was a Navy spouse for 12 years and during that time we lost over two dozen of our closest friends. Most of whom are buried at Arlington National Cemetery and Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. We wanted to do something to honor our fallen friends and to support the families they left behind.  I am proud that we bring over a hundred volunteers and have raised more than $307,000.

What about the mission means the most to you?

The Remember Honor Teach mission as a whole embodies why I got involved in WAA. My main goal is to remember those who have fought and died for our freedoms and to make sure their families are not forgotten. I especially love that we encourage volunteers to say the names of the fallen out loud before we place a wreath at their grave. Arlington National Cemetery and our other participating locations have men and women who LIVED not just that they died. It's important that we as Americans continue to tell their story so their legacy lives forever.
